About Expedox
EXPEDOX is a Boston based start-up to help companies, and their lawyers, finish better contracts faster.
Founded by a lawyer and a serial technology entrepreneur, Expedox is a response to our own frustrations with waste in existing contract negotiation, and our vision of what is possible with technology.
Our inspiration comes from lean manufacturing approaches to identifying and eliminating waste, and from a belief that the technology now exists to solve major areas of waste in how we negotiate contracts.
We believe that time is precious, and that a well-designed platform can enable negotiating parties to finish contracts faster (both sooner after they are started, and with less hours invested), while also improving both quality and security.
We have ambitious plans for eliminating waste from the contract process – waste which consumes time and effort, causes delay, reduces quality, and increases risk. Our list of waste in the contract lifecycle is long.
For our initial solution we’ve attacked a small subset of waste relating to sharing, comparing and managing document versions, while also improving security and privacy, even in cross-party collaboration, and even on the go with mobile devices.
Our Team
Roy Edelstein. Co-Founder and President.
Roy has been a business lawyer for Boston area technology companies for over twenty years. He graduated from Harvard Law School in 1993, clerked at the Israeli Supreme Court, worked at a big firm for seven years, and has had his own law practice since 2001.
Roy has spent much time speed juggling quarter-end contract negotiations, contemplating the gap between negotiation theory and practice, and intrigued by how lean manufacturing concepts can be applied to the world of contract negotiation.
Because Roy uses Expedox with his clients and law practice, he has no access to Expedox servers or to any user content, other than as a user himself.
Palle Pedersen. Co-Founder and Acting CTO.
Palle has been a technology entrepreneur and executive in the Boston area for over twenty years. He was previously CTO of a number of companies, including RealCME (healthcare education SaaS platform), Black Duck Software (Open Source governance and compliance systems), Healthology (health video syndication - acquired by iVillage/NBC Universal), and ICE (special F/X systems - acquired by Media 100). Previous experience also includes making Delphi social media into a SaaS platform (acquired by Mzinga) and making computing world records at Thinking Machines Corporation (acquired by Oracle).
